The Lady-Datejust is a classic watch for women. Sporty and chic at the same time. This very feminine model is of course in line with the famous Datejust for men, an emblematic model that imposed its style from its launch in 1945. Lady-Datejust first version for ladies of this Date Chronometer appears on the market at The end of the 1950s. The production of this model (which has undergone some modifications over the years) has however never been interrupted.
A combination of gold and steel, the Rolesor is a true signature of the brand since 1933, when the name was deposited. It is the encounter between two metals: gold on one side and steel on the other. The Rolesor principle is simple: the bezel, crown and the center mesh of the bracelet are in yellow gold or Everose 18 ct (the name of the pink gold alloy patented by Rolex), while the middle and the middle Stitches are made of steel 904L. Introduced on the Datejust model in 1948, the Rolesor contributed to the mythical status of this watch.
The case of this Oyster is guaranteed waterproof up to 100 meters. Its middle part is cut in a solid block of steel. Its fluted bottom is tightly screwed with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. The crown of the crown, equipped with the system of double sealing Twinlock, is screwed on the case. As for the ice, surmounted by the magnifying glass Cyclope at 3 o’clock for a better reading of the date, it is in sapphire practically scratch-proof.
This new Rolex for women embodies the caliber 2236, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. The latter is equipped with the Syloxi silicon spiral patented by Rolex. Perfectly insensitive to magnetic fields, this balance spring is highly stable against temperature variations and remains up to ten times more accurate than a traditional balance spring in case of impact. This caliber has a power reserve of approximately 55 hours.
On the bracelet side, this Rolex is offered on an Oyster or Jubilee bracelet. The model on Jubilee bracelet features a Crownclasp invisible clasp, which is opened by a Rolex crown. In the Oyster version, the bracelet is equipped with an Oysterclasp clasp with folding clasp and features the Easylink quick-release mesh, an ingenious system patented by Rolex which allows to easily adjust the length of approximately 5 mm for an additional comfort in any circumstance.
Finally, Lady-Datejust 28 benefits from the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015. This title attests that the watch has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by the Geneva watchmaker in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, More stringent than the watch standards. This certification concerns the watch as a whole, once the movement is nested, in order to guarantee superlative performance on the wrist in terms of accuracy, waterproofness, self-winding and autonomy. The Superlative Chronometer status is symbolized by the green (versus red) seal affixed to each Rolex watch and comes with an international five-year warranty.
